Lumellis /lumɛlɪs/ is a neography inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien's Tengwar and English orthography, with a celestial theme.
The script is an alphasyllabary or abugida, written left to right and top to bottom. There is a English Mode specifically for transcribing English and a Universal Mode for other languages, including an in-progress constructed language tentatively referred to as Zhennoran /ʒɛnoʊɹən/.

Alongside the Lumellian writing are romanizations of the sounds and IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) approximants written within slashes for pronunciation.

The diacritics that represent either vowels or select consonants are considered stars, the consonants are planets of varying sizes (giants or Greater, dwarfs or Lesser, and then simply average Median planets); a combination of vowels is called a stellar cluster while a cluster of consonants is a planetary cluster; the sibilants (S and Z) are called Comets and come in the sizes Greater, Lesser, and Tail; and the writing style described here is called Constellation Writing.
